The 2000 Series

Summary
The 2000 series is the beginning of a long term relationship between TruColor Printing Equipment and its customers. That’s because the 2000 can start simple and end up, with easy upgrades, a top of the line model.

The 2000 series utilizes the same quality optics and frame grabbing technology as the rest of TruColor’s product line. What sets this system apart are the features: Remote Control, Motorized Traverse, Motorized Lens, Split Screen, Auto Scan, and Program Scan. There aren’t many basic web inspection systems that offer all of these features.

    Standard Features

  • High quality, profession grade camera single chip camera.
  • Precision 6:1 fully motorized zoom lens with +7 achromatic diopter for 3.5× to 20× magnification. Iris (brightness), focus, and zoom adjustments are made from handheld remote.
Variable lens speed control for fine adjustments.
  • Dual xenon strobe assemblies with proprietary circuitry for optimum web lighting. Each strobe is adjustable to insure balanced, even lighting.
  • Proprietary 24 bit frame grabber with a color palette of 16.7 million colors. Industrial style EPROM firmware.
  • Industrial electronics housing with internal fan cooling and reusable anti-dust filter. Static protected and grounded.
  • Manual 304 stainless steel traverse allows camera movement across the web with pressure loaded bearing for instant positional lock-down. Slotted mounting bracket included.
  • 14″ non-interlaced SVGA display monitor calibrated by TCVS for optimum color reproduction.
  • Handheld remote with LCD for control of all system functions.
  • Three modes of operation:Run, Freeze, and Setup. Setup allows continuous strobe flash and image capture when the press is idle.
  • One Shot for single strobe flash and image capture.
  • 15 different Split Screen configurations including: tile, mosaic, horizontal, and vertical for image and color comparison. Split Screen ratio’s (horizontal/vertical modes) are operator adjustable for detailed comparison. Touch button on/off recall of previously stored standard for instant comparison.
  • Unique Crosshair feature for delimiting special areas on the image monitor.
    Optional Features

  • 17″ or 20″ color calibrated monitor.
  • Remote monitoring using multiple display monitors.

4000 Series The Top of the Line

Summary
The 4000 series builds on the first rate optics and imaging electronics of the 2000 series. The difference comes from what the 4000 series does with the image. Since TruColor vision systems uses the same quality hardware across the board, it’s the software that makes the 4000 different. The 4000’s software, MegaScan, adds flexibility in controlling camera movement and analysis of print for color, register, or bar codes.

    Standard Features

  • High quality, professional grade single chip CCD camera
  • Precision 6:1 fully monitorized feedback zoom lens with +7 achromatic diopter for 3.5x to 20x magnification. Iris (brightness), focus and zoom adjustments made from operator interface
  • Dual Xenon strobe assemblies with proprietary circuitry for optimum web lighting. Enclosed in integrated shroud to protect against ambient light.
  • Proprietary 24 bit frame grabber with a colour palette of 16.7 million colours. Industrial style EPROM firmware.
  • Industrial grade PC compatible with high speed PCI bus and floppy disk drive
  • Industrial electronic housing with internal fan cooling and reusable anti dust filter. Static protected and grounded
  • Manual, 304 stainless steel traverse allows camera movement across the web with pressure loaded bearing for instant positional lock down. Slotted mounting bracket included.
  • 15″ non inter-laced SVGA display monitor calibrated by TCVS for optimum colour reproduction.
  • Hand held remote control with LCD (basic functions only with MegaScan)
  • Three modes of operation: Run, Freeze, and Set Up allows continuous strobe flash and image capture when press is idle.
  • One shot for single strobe flash and image capture
  • 15 different Split Screen configuration including: tile, mosaic, horizontal and vertical for image and colour comparison. Split screen ratio’s (vertical/horizontal modes) are operator adjustable for detailed comparison. Touch-button on/off recall of previously stored reference image for instant comparison.
  • Multiple reference Image Storage and Recall. Each reference image can be given an operator assigned alphanumeric ID. All lens settings are stored and recalled with appropriate reference image to insure consistency.
  • Unique crosshair feature for delimiting special areas on the image monitor.
  • Simple touch-button Scan for precision camera movement up or down the repeat
  • Operator adjustable Scan automatically and continually steps through the repeat. Quick access control of Stop Scan
  • Variable, operator adjustable Update Rate (strobe flash frequency)
  • Zero speed magnetic proximity sensor for press synchronization
  • Completely modular and fully upgradeable
    Options:

  • Standard motorized camera movement across the web controlled via the operator interface. Variable motor speed for fine adjustments
  • Automatic Constant Scan (ACS) for inspecting 100% of repeat. Variable, operator adjustable limits of lateral scan area. Operator determines step size of camera movement across web, through the repeat, and update count (number of captured images at one location). Quick access control of Stop Scan.
  • Mega Scan includes Deluxe Motorized camera movement across the web with precision feedback. Mega Scan is a Windows™ based graphic interface required to operate the Programmable Scan software package. Programmable Scan allows for the repeatable auto-matic inspection of pre-determined areas of concern. The operator programs camera steps that include: positional information (in the repeat and across the web), update count, lens settings, split-screens and on/off of optional alarm package(s). Graphic Camera Positioning with simulated web, Camera Location Indicator and ACS also included.
  • Specialty lens and diopter configuration for expanded field of view and different magnification levels
  • 17″ or 20″ colour calibrated display monitors
  • Remote monitoring using multiple display monitors
  • Network capabilities: system can join common PC networks (Netware, NetBIOS) to allow remote backup, file sharing and remote multiple system control.
  • Two Camera System with external toggle for selection of independent camera image and control
  • Back Strobe provides clarity for inspecting front to back register
  • Explosion Proof and Climate controlled enclosures
  • High quality, professional grade 3 chip CCD camera for enhanced colour and image resolution. Recommended for expanded field view
Programmable Scan/3 Chip CCD Camera required for:

  • Automatic Colour Alarmtrends the colour change in user defined regions against pre-determined tolerances. It incorporates sophisticated CIElab algorithms yielding results in a ?e value
  • Automatic Register Alarm trends the amount of register mark movement against pre-determined tolerances. The system measures the movement of each register mark relative to a chosen master mark – usually from the first print station
  • Automatic Bar Code Verification determines the ANSI grade of car codes sampled throughout the run. Bar codes can be verified in picket fences and ladder orientations. The operator pre-determines an out of tolerance level using any or all of the individual specifications of an ANSI grade, Total Overall Grade, and/or Valid Code
  • Audible/Visual Beacon to alert the operator when an out of tolerance condition is found (colour, register, or bar code)
